What the wattage on the box actually means
The rating is the charger’s maximum output, not the speed any given phone will accept. Most iPhones cap at 7.5W on a standard Qi pad no matter what the pad is rated for; 15W is reached only over MagSafe or Qi2. Many Android phones do use the full 10W or 15W. If your recipients are mixed, a 15W pad costs a little more and removes the question — but do not promise 15W to an iPhone user on a plain pad.
Phone cases
Wireless charging works through most cases up to roughly 3 mm thick. It does not work through a metal case, a metal plate for a magnetic car mount, or most wallet cases with cards in them. This is the single most common support question after a wireless charger giveaway, so it is worth a line on the insert card.
Materials and how they decorate
Bamboo is the most popular body in this range and laser engraves beautifully — the mark is burned into the grain, so it never wears off. It also means the engraving color is whatever the bamboo turns, not your brand color, and grain varies piece to piece. ABS, RPET and fabric-topped pads take a full-color digital print if exact color matching matters. Glass and acrylic tops give the most premium look and take a printed or backlit logo.
Choosing a form factor
A flat charging pad is the cheapest way into this range. A stand holds the phone at eye level, which people prefer for video calls. A 3-in-1 station also charges a watch and earbuds and is the strongest performer as an executive gift. For desk-bound recipients, a charging mouse pad puts your logo under their hand all day.
