Short answer: the total is quantity × unit price, plus any decoration and setup charges that apply, plus shipping and tax. First check whether the listed unit price includes your logo or covers a blank item only. On most of our products it includes a one-color logo in one location, and a one-time setup charge (usually $65) is added per product and decoration.
What is included in the listed price?
On most products the listed price includes your one-color logo printed in one location, artwork preparation and a free digital proof. Products priced blank say so next to the price; on those, decoration and its setup are quoted separately. More colors, more locations or a different decoration method are quoted on request.
What is the setup charge?
A one-time charge to prepare the print for a product and decoration method (screen, plate or engraving file). In our current catalog 1,052 of 1,156 products list a $65 setup charge; the rest range from $70 to $200. It is shown on each product page.
Setup is separate from the unit price. The examples below use one setup charge for the stated product and decoration. If you order several different products, imprint locations or decoration methods, confirm which setup charges apply.

These are illustrative calculations for the stated product, decoration and quantity, before shipping and tax. Your quote confirms the charges that apply, and the invoice reflects the quantity actually shipped, which our Terms allow to vary by up to 5% on custom orders.
On the Viceroy, going from 25 to 250 pieces lowers the real cost per piece from $19.05 to $15.31, about 20% less, while the unit price in the table drops only about 8.5%. The difference is the setup charge being spread over more pieces: $65 adds $2.60 per piece at 25 and 26 cents at 250.
What is extra?
- Shipping. Quoted by destination and weight. You can use your own UPS or FedEx account: choose “shipping not included” at checkout and add the account number in the order notes.
- Sales tax. The tax that applies depends on the destination and your exemption status; see our current policy.
- Extra colors or locations. Quoted per order.
- Rush service. Available on more than a third of the catalog, often at no extra charge; check the specific product and quantity.
How do I keep the total down?
- Order at a quantity break, not just below one. Check the price table before settling on 90 pieces when 100 costs less per piece.
- Keep the logo to one color in one location where you can; that is what the listed price includes on most products.
- Combine quantities of the same product and decoration into one order rather than two smaller ones.
- Reorder the same design. Your artwork stays on file. Ask whether a repeat-order setup charge applies.
